Architecture programme BA Thesis defence on Jan 30, 10.00

The presentations and reviews of the BA thesis projects of 2018 at FAD will take place on Tuesday, January 30, starting at 10.00. The BA Thesis will be evaluated by the examination commission: Sven Verbruggen (the chairman of the commission, architect, PhD., RISEBA guest professor, BE), Andris Kronbergs (architect, Mg. arch., RISEBA Honorary professor), Gunta Grikmane (architect, Mg. arch., President of the Latvia Association of Architects), Rūdolfs Dainis Šmits (architect, LV/US), Didzis Jaunzems (architect, Dipl. arch., RISEBA lecturer).

Altogether 10 upcoming graduates and emerging architects will defend their thesis projects on architecture and urban strategies for education in order to receive Bachelor degree of Engineering Sciences in Architecture.

RISEBA FAD 2017/2018 fall semester architecture student projects reviews – DEC 21-22, 2017 Camera

The architecture student projects reviews of 2017/2018 fall semester covering student work from all three BA Architecture programme design studios will take place on Dec 21 and Dec 22 at FAD.

Reviews will be also accompanied by Slice of Architecture Christmas edition open lecture by architect Niklāvs Paegle on Dec 21, 17.00 and the annual award ceremony for personal growth and outstanding achievements in the design studios on Dec 22, 17.30.

FAD student Juta Davidovska receives BAUA award for the best BA Thesis project – "Visitor Centre for the Lost Valley of Daugava", tutors: Dina Suhanova, Didzis Jaunzems Camera

On Nov 3rd, 2017, the best works of young architects from Baltic states were awarded in the ceremony held in Vilnius, Lithuania. The award for the best master level work was given to Marten Peterson (Estonian Arts Academy, Estonia), and the award for the best bachelor degree work – to Juta Davidovska (RISEBA University, Latvia).

The event was organized for the 5th time by Baltic Architects’ Unions’ Association (BAUA) aiming to highlight the best young professionals presenting the best graduation projects of all the architectural schools from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. This year’s edition features 17 projects from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), Vilnius Academy of Arts (Lithuania), RISEBA University (Latvia), Riga Technical University (Latvia), TTK University of Applied Sciences (Estonia) and Estonian Academy of Arts (Estonia).
