In November 2016 the Japanese architecture magazine "a+u" published a special issue No. 555 showcasing Latvian architecture — "Feature: Latvia - Architecture Unfolding". Such publication on Latvian architecture is a first-time occasion in Japan. The guest editor of the special issue is FAD lecturer and researcher Dr. Arch. Ilze Paklone.

Žurnāla "Latvijas Architektūra" Nr. 127/2016 publicēts plašs FAD 2016. gada absolventes Līgas Treijas raksts "Pašvaldības dzīvokļu fonda revitalizācija Rīgā". Temata pētniecība aizsākās kā Līgas bakalaura darbs (vad. Dr. Arch. Jānis Lejnieks) un skar jautājumu par Rīgas pilsētā izkaisīto pamesto un degradēto dzīvojamo ēku potenciālu pašvaldības dzīvojamā fonda izveidē.
From 28 July 2016 to 26 August the exhibition of photos Gaismas pils un Gaismas tīkls. Birkerta projektētā Latvijas Nacionālā bibliotēka un 9 Latvijas arhitektoniski izteiksmīgākās publiskās bibliotēkas is opened on the 1st floor of the National Library of Latvia.

New names in the architecture! FAD BA study programme Architecture graduates Ernests Šveisbergs and Zane Teseļska and their BA Thesis projects featured in the April / May issue of Latvian architecture magazine Latvijas Architektūra No. 124 / 2016.
Together with FAD BA Thesis public exhibition held in the National Library of Latvia from Feb 23 until March 18, the team of students and academic staff worked on and published the first FAD book.
